About Moab Springs Ranch

WHAT: Moab Springs Ranch is an 18-acre mixed use resort combining residential, commercial and lodging uses. The Resort is entitled by Moab City and Grand County as a mixed-use Planned Unit Development.

WHERE: The Ranch is located at 1266 North US Highway 191, also known as Main Street, at the north entrance of the City of Moab. The Ranch is 1 mile south of the Colorado River and Arches National Park, and about 1 mile north of downtown Moab.

HISTORY AND SETTING: The resort is a renovation of Moab’s oldest ranch. The historic Granstaff and Taylor Ranches were sited where copious springs of crystal-clear water issue from the red-rock cliffs. This historic oasis has a rich legacy from pre-historic times, the Pioneer era and even the twentieth century. The Spanish Trail, Butch Cassidy and Moab pioneers have each played a role. The restored two-story brick Ranch House is on the National Register of Historic Places. A stately grove of native Cottonwood trees shade and cool the spacious restored grounds. The Ranch nestles into the mesa known locally as the Slickrock Trail Mesa, which may be accessed on an old cattle trail from the Resort.

AMENITIES; The Resort has a 41-foot by 16-foot heated swimming pool, a shared hot tub, several acres of Private Park, wading pools, pond and waterscape. Condo-lodges will add additional amenities. The dedicated open space of 12 acres, to 6 acres of development, is the highest such ratio in Moab.

THE DEVELOPER: The resort owner and developer is Club Utah Resort Group L.L.C. (Club Utah), a Utah limited liability company headquartered in Salt Lake City. Club Utah has owned Moab Springs Ranch since December of 1998. The project was conceived and designed by McKay Edwards, an Urban Planner and developer with 30 years experience in resort planning and development. Mr. Edwards remains the principal for the project.

Many of our guests are curious about real estate at Moab Springs. Some common questions are:

Q: Who owns the Condos?

A: Condos (and Townhomes) are individually owned. We build the dwellings, sell them and then manage them for owners if they choose. Owners can choose to rent the units themselves, rent through an agent of their choice, or may choose not to rent at all.

Some Owners plan to spend some of their retirement living here. Our Owners come from many different states, including Colorado, Utah, Florida, New Jersey, Iowa and Wyoming.

Q: How many units are there?

A: There are 19 units on site and 15 available for nightly rentals. The resort is an 18-acre master-planned community with 60% dedicated to open space.
